Local Highlight: Fresh Start Cafe

Tired of the same old coffee every day? Looking for a ‘fresh start to your morning?

Located in beautiful Downtown Delaware, Fresh Start Cafe offers delicious coffee, fresh-baked goods, and a welcoming atmosphere, making it a perfect spot for college students. This local gem is a dream for Ohio Wesleyan students and a great way to support small businesses.

Fresh Start Cafe opened in 2016 with owner Todd Daughenbaugh decided he needed a change after more than 25 years in corporate America.

Wanting to start his own business and connect with the community, he launched the cafe as his new adventure.

To bring his vision to life, Daughenbaugh worked with Phil Smith, Director of the Delaware Entrepreneurial Center (DEC), a valuable resource for Ohio Wesleyan students. The DEC has helped many small businesses, including Fresh Start Cafe, by providing support with creativity, logistics, and capital.

Small businesses like Fresh Start Cafe are the heart and soul of Delaware, Ohio, and the Ohio Wesleyan community, especially in the downtown area. Next time you’re in need of a coffee break, stop by and support a local favorite!
