OWU Career and Summer Internship Fair Connects Students with opportunity

On February 26th, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the Hamilton Williams Campus Center will host the annual OWU Career & Summer Internship Fair. Students are expected to fill the space, dress professionally, and be ready to connect with employers about internships, part-time work, and future careers.

The fair is geared towards students seeking internships, part-time jobs, and even full-time positions after graduation. This year, between 70 and 76 employers are expected to attend, offering a wide range of opportunities. From local organizations to larger companies, students will have the chance to explore different careers and begin building professional connections.

The event is now part of the larger OWU Connection Conference, which focuses on helping students strengthen their networks and prepare for life after College. For many students, the field is not just about handing out a resume; it is about gaining confidence, practicing communication skills, and learning how to present themselves professionally.

Career Connection is playing a major role in preparing students for success. In the days leading up to the fair, they are offering drop-in sessions and resume reviews.

Employers strongly encourage students to bring a well-drafted, printed resume, and Career Connection staff are available to help students polish their resumes beforehand. During the event, Career Ambassadors, interns, and staff members will be available at the check-in table and throughout the room to offer guidance and support.

Even after the fair ends, students can continue receiving help. Career Connection provides interview assistance, support in reaching out to employers, and general career advising. Appointments can be scheduled through Handshake or by emailing careers@owu.edu.

For me personally, this event has already made a difference. Last year, I attended the Career & Summer Internship Fair and secured a part-time job through one of the employers present. I still work there today. That experience showed me that opportunities at this Fair are real and that being prepared and confident can truly pay off.

As February 26th approaches, students are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity, whether they are looking for an internship, part-time work, or simply want to explore options. The Career & Summer Internship Fair offers a valuable chance to take the next step towards the future.
