As the spring sun sets on another season of Battling Bishop baseball, it’s time to tip our caps to the seniors who’ve poured their heart and hustle into every game, practice, and dugout moment over the past four years.
The Class of 2025 has meant more to this team than stats on a scoreboard, though, don’t worry, the numbers are impressive too. These guys have been leaders, motivators, and the glue that held it all together through the ups and downs.
Sammy Stoner: Our speedy centerfielder from Dublin, OH, closes out his OWU career batting .415, yes, you read that right. He led the team in hits and stolen bases and was a nightmare for opposing pitchers all season. A 2024 All-NCAC third-teamer, Sammy’s energy set the tone every time he stepped on the field.
Ryan Duckworth: From Hilliard was Mr. Consistency in the infield, batting .368 and knocking in 25 RBIs. His quiet leadership and steady glove made him one of the team’s most reliable players.
Michael Franckhauser: A hometown arm from Delaware, held it down on the mound with poise. Whether starting or relieving, he gave the team the innings it needed and brought a calm presence every time he toed the rubber.
Josh Ferreira: Hailing from Raynham, Massachusetts, was a strong right-handed option out of the bullpen. He showed up in key moments with the kind of composure you can’t coach — and that’s exactly what you want in tight games.
Joe Liss: From Evanston, Illinois, was another dependable bullpen arm who racked up 11 strikeouts in just over 11 innings. He brought grit and fire every time he took the mound.
Noah Brazytis: Our third baseman from Euclid, was a defensive anchor and always came through with the timely hit. His hustle on the hot corner didn’t go unnoticed.
Corey Strazek: The glue guy every coach dreams of. Whether on the mound or infield, Corey’s work ethic and positive attitude made him a true asset to the Bishops’ roster.
These seniors brought more than just talent to the program. They brought dedication, resilience, and a deep love for the game and for each other. They’ve been through tough losses and long road trips together. And through it all, they never stopped showing up.
As graduation approaches, we know these guys are headed for big things beyond the baseball field. But no matter where they go, they’ll always be part of the Bishop family.
One final quote from the senior class:
“Go out there and give it everything you got you'll miss it when it's over.”
Teammates had this to say about the seniors “ Thank you for everything you have done, can't wait to see what you guys do in the future.”
