Get Involved! A Recap of the Annual Student Involvement Fair

So many students! Ohio Wesleyan’s Student Involvement Fair attracts hoards of students to the many organizations on campus.

Ohio Wesleyan hosted their Student Involvement Fair, an event that puts clubs and organizations on display for the student body to explore. This event, hosted every fall semester, is a great way for students to explore their interests and discover new ones.

Ohio Wesleyan University is a very active school when it comes to clubs and organizations. Currently, the school serves 93 clubs and organizations, including fraternities and sororities. With this many clubs, as well as a small student body, the participation in these extra-curricular clubs is high. On Thursday, Aug. 28, 2025, the fair took place in the Hamilton Williams Campus Center.

With 70 tables set and ready, there were plenty of clubs and organizations for students to explore. Quickly after the event kicked off, students started showing up in waves. It took little time for the room to be packed with students, and for club executives to be met with all kinds of students interested in hearing all about what the clubs had to offer. The fair was off to a good start as many students were visiting numerous tables and getting to mix and mingle with new people.

Cord Podolan, a senior mathematics student at the university who attended the event, said the event made him feel good about OWU.

“I loved seeing how many people were there and how busy it was; it makes me proud to be part of this campus.”

As the evening continued, the foot traffic stayed consistent. As soon as one student left, another one was walking in. This constant action kept the fair active and the people on their feet. Clubs and organizations were seeing countless students walk up to their table, with many of them signing up or inquiring about further details.

With all the students in attendance, it was clear that the fair is an essential experience for students, both new and returning. The event has always been important; however, this year the fair was on a whole new level. This semester, the university set a record with a freshman class of over 600 students. With this surge in the student body, the fair gained new importance.

“I think the Student Involvement Fair is extremely important, especially early on freshman year when you’re looking to meet people who have similar interests to you. I feel like there are a ton of clubs and orgs that it’s easy to find something that suits your interests,” said Payne Johnson, an alumnus of the university.

The turnout was amazing, and the clubs saw great success with their engagement from new students. Many clubs and organizations have their activities starting soon, and with all the new members, the university is sure to see some great club involvement and participation.
