Crafting Community: How Staas Brewing Company is Redefining Local Beer Culture

The craft beer scene in Delaware holds a rich history, and at the heart of the city stands Staas Brewing, the city’s first brewery since Prohibition.

Family owned by husband and wife duo Liz and Donald Stass, the small batch brew pub has been labeled as the cornerstone of the community, offering an awesome selection of craft Belgian and English-style beverages.

The Staas family first visited Delaware in 2012, and immediately fell in love with its charm. Within the next six months, they sold their home in Columbus and moved to Delaware to bring their dream to life.

Now, a decade later, Staas Brewing has claimed its place as more than just a brewery, but as a gathering place for local Delaware residents who are looking for a taste of tradition and camaraderie that comes with sharing a beer.

Unlike many modern breweries that often experiment with beverages, Staas believes in staying true to style. They believe in creating classic styles with the highest attention to quality and balance. They will incorporate unique ingredients like spruce tips to enhance flavor, but their goal is always to highlight the natural malt, hop, and yeast profiles within the beer.

With twelve rotating taps and two traditional English beer engines, customers are always in for a surprise when they stop in for a drink. Staas consistently introduces new recipes and seasonal releases, which ensures that no two visits are the same.

Whether you are a craft beer enthusiast, or a casual drinker looking for a nice spot to unwind, this hidden gem offers something special to its visitors.

Staas is more than just a place for a beer, it is a testament to passion, and perseverance within the brewing industry. Stop in for a pint and experience a taste of Delaware's rich history in every single sip.
