Coach Glass: Changing the Weight Room Narrative

Anthony Glass serves as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Ohio Wesleyan University, a role he has held since 2023. Based in Edwards Gymnasium, he oversees the development and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for OWU's athletic teams.

Glass brings a wealth of experience and a reformative approach to the position, having previously served as the Director of Strength and Conditioning for Olympic Sports at both Appalachian State University and The Ohio State University.

A native of Granite Falls, North Carolina, Glass graduated from Appalachian State in 1990 with a degree in exercise science. He went on to earn a master's degree in Physical Education, with a focus on coaching and sports biomechanics, from Northern Illinois University.

Throughout his career, Glass has trained more than 40 conference championship teams, 10 national championship teams, and numerous Olympic and professional athletes. He has also worked with more than 75 first-team All-Americans across 19 different sports.

In recognition of his impact and expertise in the field, Glass was named a Master Strength and Conditioning Coach by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association–one of the highest honors in the profession.

Since arriving at Ohio Wesleyan, Coach Glass has revitalized the culture of the university’s weight room. He has introduced sport-specific training programs tailored to the needs of each team, helping athletes enhance their performance and reach new levels of physical excellence. His presence has positively impacted every team on campus, fostering a more focused and driven athletic environment.

At OWU, Glass continues to apply his deep knowledge and experience to support student-athletes, playing a key role in the university’s ongoing pursuit of excellence in athletics and student development.
