Alumnus Poet Shares Her Recents Work With the OWU Community

After graduating from Ohio Wesleyan over ten years ago, Anni Liu came back to talk about her newly released poetry book, Border Vista.

During the conference that took place in the Benes Rooms, she read aloud multiple poems from her book, answered questions and even explained her mysterious, yet stylish book cover.

“Coming back to OWU, my first time after graduating, was a warm and moving experience for me, one that felt like a real homecoming. My years here were a real intellectual, social, and emotional foundation for everything else that has come after. I was consistently both challenged and nurtured”, said Liu about being invited as a guest speaker to the university.

She also provided students with tips stating “Critical thinking and learning across disciplines have been skills that have been hugely impactful in my professional and personal life”.

After her hour-long reading, she held up a book signing station as well as having multiple copies of her book available to anyone who wanted to purchase it.

She did conclude her visit by leaving OWU students with a special message; “you are in good hands and in very good company with each other. Treasure this time, and delve in deeply!”
