Interested in Joining the OWU Communication Student Board?

The OWU Communication Student Board is looking for new applicants to become members for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year.

The Communication Student Board is a student-led organization on campus that coordinates events for the communication department, engages the campus community, advocates for the expansion and application of communication, and aids in making important decisions for the communication department with the help of the department chair.

The responsibilities and roles within the Communication Student Board are endless, ensuring that anybody interested in becoming a member finds their place and duties with ease. Additionally, there is always guidance and support from other members of the board and the faculty within the department.

To apply for this position, you must be a communication major at OWU. Students who are interested in applying for any board positions should be driven and dedicated to the betterment of the department.

Not only is joining the Communication Student Board great for your resumé, it also gives you a wonderful experience working with others, developing your critical thinking skills, remaining open-minded, and, of course, building your communication skills.

Meetings are once every other week during the lunch hour, so it is perfect for those who may have a busy schedule but are still interested in remaining involved on campus.

Our Communication Student Board plans events like “Comm As You Are”, “Comm Double Up Your Major”, and “Comm Show Your Appreciation”. These events aim to engage students with the communication department, showcasing its versatility and applicability in the job market. The Communication Student Board also plans an end-of-the-year event for all faculty and students within the department, honoring their accomplishments. Board members also conduct faculty evaluations to improve the department.

If you are a communication major interested in applying for the position, complete the application in your email, or contact the Communication Student Board via Instagram: @owu_comm.

Reach out to the same account with any questions regarding the application, application process, or for more information regarding the duties of a board member.
